Witchfinder General

Witchfinder General

England is torn in civil strife as the Royalists battle the Parliamentary Party for control. This conflict distracts people from rational thought and allows unscrupulous men to gain local power by exploiting village superstitions. One of these men is Matthew Hopkins, who tours the land offering his services as a persecutor of witches.

Witchfinder General review by Soap2Day

Witchfinder General Soap2Day I liked the twisted plot and realistic characters who spent 86 min minutes trying to find the right path in life.

Definitely liked and made me think, the film, the plot of which will not be subject to time, it will always be one of the best in the genre Best Witch, Drama, History, Horror.

The film was released in 1968 and immediately received high ratings from film critics and viewers, the catchy plot captures attention instantly and keeps it until the very end.

DirectorMichael Reeves gave the film the opportunity to become the best in its direction, such a fine work with the cast brought the picture to a new level.

Multi-faceted and talented, Alf Joint, Anne Tirard, Beaufoy Milton, Bernard Kay, Bill Maxwell, David Lyell, David Reynolds-Lacey, David Webb, Dennis Thorne, Derek Ware, Donna Reading, Edward Palmer, Gillian Aldam, Godfrey James, Hilary Dwyer, Hira Talfrey, Ian Ogilvy, Jack Lynn, John Kidd, John Trenaman, Lee Peters, Maggie Kimberly, Margaret Nolan, Martin Terry, Michael Beint, Michael Segal, Nicky Henson, Patrick Wymark, Paul Ferris, Peter Haigh, Peter Thomas, Philip Waddilove, Robert Russell, Rupert Davies, Sally Douglas, Sandy Seagar, Susi Field, Tasma Bereton, Toby Lenon, Tony Selby, Vincent Price, Wilfrid Brambell were so organic in the film that now for me they are primarily associated with these roles.
